A Licensed Associate Counselor, Julia earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas and her Master's of Science and Educational Specialist in School and Professional Counseling from Harding University. Prior to private counseling, Julia worked in education as a teacher and school counselor for 10 years working with children of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. She is currently working to become a Registered Play Therapist.
Julia incorporates a variety of therapeutic techniques including play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help children understand their thoughts, feelings, and impulses. She has experience treating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, ADHD, conduct disorders, school adjustment, divorce and separation, and other behavioral concerns.
Julia also believes in helping parents to be strong and healthy. Sometimes parents have to take time to heal from their own experiences, therefore Julia is available to support parents to be the strong caregivers their family needs.
Julia and her husband, Kent, have been married since 2007 and have two girls. Julia was born in Wisconsin, but raised in Northwest Arkansas. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, and calling those Hogs!
