Colleen Nulty, M.S., L.P.C.-S., RPT-S
Colleen is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor with many years of experience working with children and their families. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University.
Colleen specializes in working with children ages 5 and up, as well as, adults navigating life’schallenges. Her approach is rooted in connection, understanding, and nurturing each client’s unique strengths.
She utilizes CBT-informed, person-centered, solution-focused, EMDR, and play therapy approaches to support emotional growth, build healthy coping skills, and strengthen relationships. While her primary focus is working with children and their families, Colleen also supports teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors, and grief/loss. Play is a child’s first form of expression and a powerful pathway for growth and healing. Play meets clients where they are, making the counseling experience feel less intimidating. As Gary Landreth said, “Toys are used like words by children, and play is their language.” She brings over 38 years of experience in education, including 27 years as a school counselor, along with more than a decade as a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist.
Whether Colleen is supporting clients through major life transitions, chronic stress, or long-standing patterns, therapy becomes a space where they can build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward greater stability and self-understanding.
